About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation Otter Lake on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, AK.

This is a not to exceed (NTE) position of 30-Sep-2025.

This position is also Flexible, meaning you are guaranteed a minimum of 0 hours per week to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Your schedule will depend on needs of the facility.

Duties

Help

This position is assigned to the Community Services Flight with main duties at Otter Lake and (by extension) Warrior Xtreme Paintball.

Performs and/or assists in operation and maintenance of recreational facilities. Types of duties include, but are not limited to, the following: processing cash and credit card transactions, issuing lake boats, cabins, and paintball equipment for safe operation; assists in booking and maintaining the Otter Lake Lodge, maintaining recreation area grounds to ensure they are in good/clean condition, demonstrates safety and conservation techniques for campground and recreation area, booking of campsites, cabins, and paintball course, demonstrates equipment and techniques of various outdoor activities such as boating and paintballing; sets up facilities for events and have a practical knowledge of the rules and procedures of such activities, inspects facilities and equipment for security and general conditions; ensures cabins, boats, and paintball equipment are vacated or returned in good order. Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment, rules and procedures in a recreation program activity which has involved recreation work in the area of specialty in which the position is assigned, cash handling and customer service experience.

Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
