Duties

Help

Responsible for the overall maintenance and repair of all Outdoor Recreation assets to include equipment rental items (skis, snowboards, bicycles, camping gear), program equipment (bicycles, vehicle storage racks, boating gear) vehicles (assist w/ the logistics and general maintenance), customer's equipment and other property. Operates and performs maintenance utilizing various equipment such as electronic ski binding calibration machine, stone grinder, ceramic edger, ski/snowboard hot waxer, ski/snowboard belt edger, P-tex guns, bicycle repair tools and cleaning chemicals for truing wheels, transmission repairs and tune-ups; and other miscellaneous tools and supplies necessary to complete the task at hand. Demonstrates knowledge and performs quality maintenance in a timely manner.
Initiates, schedules, implements, instructs and evaluates special interest classes for the community to include general bike and ski/ snowboard upkeep and maintenance classes. Assists with belaying customers on climbing wall.
Provides inputs to management for the resale program; purchasing, pricing, merchandising and inventories. Studies technical manuals and other current publications to maintain up-to-date knowledge in regard to the industry standards, maintenance and technology.
Works under the supervision of ODR Management. Prioritizes taskings and spends time effectively during the duty day.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Experience in the proper use and maintenance of Outdoor Recreational equipment such as ski/snowboard, bicycle, and camping gear. Must have knowledge and ability to operate various tools and equipment to include items such as a ski/snowboard edger, waxer and stone grinder, bike tools for transmission repairs and truing wheels. Must have an understanding of the industry trends to provide input and documentation for equipment purchases (equipment, equipment rental and retail) and future spending requirements. Applicant must be able to lift up to 40 lbs, work in inclement weather conditions and able to use various cleaning chemicals. Must be able to work with the public in a customer support role.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
