Duties

Help
  • Responsible for ensuring mission requirements associated with physical distribution, Stock Readiness, Item Data operations.
  • Responsible for inventory accountability/accuracy, suspended materials, Discrepancy reports, and customer support are completed effectively and efficiently.
  • Analyzes the efficiency of receiving, storage, shipping, and packing procedures and system programming on customer support.
  • Determines actions required for implementation and coordinates with functional personnel. Participates in problem- solving meetings and conferences.
  • Performs workload analysis, working directly with depot and management personnel in development of plans concerning workload processing.
  • Analyzes daily workload data and determines capabilities of labor and resources for Operations Support personnel. May perform physical counts of material in warehouse locations.
  • Performs independent analysis, at times resolving difficult issues and problems across all physical distribution functions performed at the depot. Evaluates, interprets, and monitors implementation of policy, systems and procedural changes.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Supervisory Distribution Facilities Specialist, your qualifications and resume must support:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:

  • Perform analytical assignments involving specific issues associated with supply operations.
  • Compile, analyze and summarize information relating to supply requirements.
  • Applies analytical techniques in evaluating problems, making recommendations, and formulating plans for corrective actions.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
