Duties

Help
  • Provide support of accounting, budget, and other related financial management work within Medical Treatment Facility.
  • Coordinates with systems development personnel to locate and resolve accounting transaction problems in the various data bases utilized and accounting systems.
  • Reviews, evaluates, and verifies the range of accounting transactions to determine the adequacy of the system.
  • Examines accounts and resolves difficult reconciliations requiring an analysis of adjustments and corrective entries in the account.
  • Determines pay, payroll records maintenance and completion of reports pertaining to civilian employees.
  • Establishes, maintains, corrects and closes pay accounts for active, reserve, or retired personnel and their annuitants.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination unless exempted by medical personnel or for religious reasons.
  • Employees are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 1 certified position.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) monitoring government travel card accounts, 2) experience assisting with processing travel orders, AND 3) experience in reconciling issues related to government purchase card accounts.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
