This position is located in the Government Accountability Office, Chief Administrative Officer/Chief Financial Officer (CAO/CFO), Business Process Analytics Group (BPAG). The employee will be responsible for directing and overseeing a team of analysts as they perform analysis and program evaluations on the efficiency and effectiveness of policies, programs, and operations in support of CAO functions.

Help

As a Director (Business Process Analytics), MS-0343-II, your typical work assignments may include the following:

  • Serve as the Program Manager for the Business Process Analytics Group (BPAG).
  • The BPAG provides support to the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) by developing and maintain a data-driven culture in the Government Accountability Office operations.
  • Oversee a team of analysts that perform analysis on the efficiency and effectiveness of policies, programs and operations in support CAO functions.
  • Direct internal surveys and evaluations.
  • Develop strategies related to workload and operational management functions.
  • Manage the implementation of business analytic tools.
  • Develop the ability of staff members to perform and contribute to the GAO mission.
  • Evaluate staff performance, resolve complaints and grievances, provide staff development and initiate improvement plans. Take disciplinary action as needed.
  • Assist and advise the Chief Administrative Officer and key leaders to identify strategic objects, goals and long-range plans.
  • Provide advice on the development of policies that have impact on the entire agency.

Qualifications

Applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower band (MS-1, PT-III, PE-IIB, CS-III) or level equivalent to the GS-14 in the federal service which has equipped them with the skills and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Specialized experience for this position is defined as:

  • Developing systematic processes for the collection of performance data;
  • Analyzing data and progress against agency standards; and
  • Developing operational guidance based on sound, scientific, and quantitative information.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
