The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts (AO), Office of the General Counsel (OGC), Ethics Staff is seeking an experienced, professional Administrative Analyst to join its team.

The Administrative Analyst provides high-quality staff support, guidance, and assistance to the Judicial Conference of the United States Committee on Financial Disclosure responsible for implementing the financial disclosure provisions of the Ethics in Government Act of 1978. The incumbent performs duties with minimal guidance and meeting deadlines.

The ideal candidate must communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and have experience with Microsoft databases and document management and storage systems. This position reports to the Assistant Chief of the Financial Disclosure Staff.

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  1. Providing professional staff support, guidance, and assistance to the Judicial Conference Committee on Financial Disclosure responsible for implementing the financial disclosure provisions of the Ethics in Government Act of 1978.
  2. Filing, reviewing, processing, and maintaining financial disclosure reports as per financial disclosure filing instructions, Committee guidance, and regulations.
  3. Reviewing reports using the Financial Disclosure Online Electronic Filing System, the Judiciary Electronic Filing System, and other electronic systems.
  4. Drafting, reviewing, and transmitting correspondence, including letters, memoranda, e-mails, and electronic notifications.
  5. Processing, maintaining, and monitoring public requests for release, filer requests for redaction of financial disclosure reports, and all related correspondence.
  6. Processing, maintaining, and monitoring financial disclosure reports, including application of approved redactions.
  7. Providing logistical support to plan and execute biannual Committee meetings, including planning, printing and mailing materials, and facilities support.
  8. Directing visitors and telephone and national service desk inquiries from judges and Judiciary employees to the appropriate staff member and tracking those inquiries to resolution.

  7. If appointed to a temporary position, management may have the discretion of converting the position to permanent depending upon funding and staffing allocation.

Qualifications

Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions.

Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience must demonstrate experience in ALL areas defined below:

  • Providing a broad range of administrative support.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and transmitting notifications and correspondence.
  • Using automated systems and processes, including web-based applications, spreadsheets, and database management software.
