Duties

Help
  • Apply biopsychosocial evaluations to propose behavioral health interventions.
  • Provide evidence-based treatment, including behavioral, cognitive, and motivational approaches.
  • Provide regular and concise feedback on the status of referred patients to include recommendations for team-based care.
  • Implement psychoeducational classes to target high frequency diagnoses found in an outpatient behavioral health clinic.
  • Document information in the electronic health record during patient encounters.

  • This position may require incumbent to obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
  • Applicants may be required to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
  • This position may require incumbent to work uncommon tours of duty hours such as on-call, working either fixed or rotating shifts, evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
  • This position may be designated as "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions, the incumbent may be required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • This position may have a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement up to 5% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist:

Degree: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. (You MUST submit a copy of your transcript with your application package or you will be rated ineligible.)

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes conducting behavioral health assessments; providing individual and group treatment; and working as part of a multidisciplinary team. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

AND

License: The Clinical Psychologist position requires a current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction. (NOTE: You must provide a copy of your license with your application package.)

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
