The U.S. Secret Service is seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to drive the evolution of how information technology (IT) is used to ensure the protection and safety of the President of the United States, the Vice President of the United States, the White House, and the Nation's critical financial infrastructure. The position of CIO requires insight into emerging technology and business trends, an understanding of global threats and cybersecurity risks, and knowledge of current technology standards, frameworks and best practices.
This senior executive position will allow the incumbent to transform how the Secret Service uses technology to achieve its mission with opportunities ranging from the modernization of communication and planning devices to working with partners on advanced surveillance and threat mitigation. As the CIO, will drive innovative and dynamic technology programs that position the organization to achieve mission success in both day-to-day operations and through long term strategic programs.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring law enforcement and other personnel have access to essential, state-of-the-art IT resources and services. The incumbent will collaborate with executives across the Secret Service and the Department of Homeland Security to address and incorporate emerging trends and mission requirements. As the senior expert and advisor to the Secret Service Director and other executive staff, the incumbent will advocate for the establishment of IT solutions, in accordance with ethical guidelines and applicable policies, procedures, laws, and directives. The incumbent will identify future IT needs and solutions, recommend and manage the implementation of IT standards and policies that support the direction and long-term goals through the development and execution of the Office of the Chief Information Officer's strategic vision, principles, and products.
