The Nebraska Western Iowa VA Health Care System- Grand Island, NE is currently recruiting for an full time, Primary Care PACT Physician Assistant. Additional duties may be assigned by the Primary Supervisor, appropriate Chief of Service or Chief of Staff, which may included provisions for special training to assure proficiency.
Independently manages a panel of patients with acute and chronic health conditions with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention using evidence-based practice.
Develops and implements an individualized plan to achieve optimal population health and disease management.
Demonstrates leadership and works collaboratively with Primary Care Team and other interdisciplinary team members.
Orders and interprets labs, tests, and diagnostic studies.
Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
Performs clinical procedures.
Initiates referrals and consults to specialty services.
Provides education to patients and their families.
Assesses and adjusts the plan of care as needed to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Physician Assistant-III (PA-III) b. Experience and Education. Experience and Education. PAs at the PA-Ill grade are at the full performance level and lead and organize patient care independently, practice within multidisciplinary teams, and coordinate all aspects of patient care across the health care system. They utilize advanced clinical knowledge and judgment in decision-making and evaluating outcomes. They function as experts in clinical practice and/or in areas related to the assigned roles and responsibilities, may serve as mentors for transitioning PAs, and may provide training for health care students. Individuals can demonstrate the KSAs for the full performance level by:
Three years of successful practices as a PA.
OR
