Summary

Duties

Help

This position provides support for the court's technology devices, networks, telecommunication systems, courtroom equipment, audio and digital recording systems, software applications and associated peripherals; and training for internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

Provides direct customer technical support, monitors and resolves helpdesk IT requests and logs for the divisional offices in San Francisco, and provides backup support to the court's other divisional offices.

Install or assist in the installation of upgrades and new or revised off-the shelf/desktop releases. Set up, configure, install, document and troubleshoot hardware and software.

Oversees and maintains Courtroom Technology and Electronic Evidence Presentation Systems: ensures proper functioning of hardware/software, courtroom equipment, audio and digital recordings systems, telephone system, video conferencing system, and other telecommunication systems; and troubleshoots problems.

Provides user training and support for software applications/desktop software, scanning and telecommunications systems. Identifies training needs for internal and external users based on quality assurance analysis. Ensures new employee IT setup and training.

Provides support for mobile devices, remote access, and web access.

Customizes and maintains software for local needs. Prepares and maintains documentation for local programs, writes and distributes procedures.

Provides network administration assistance and support for the Windows Active Directory network, remote access devices, backup software, and Cisco routers. Provides cabling support as needed.

Performs daily system backups, verifies data integrity, and monitors daily operations of equipment and automated systems and equipment.

Provides support in procuring, disposing, and inventory tracking of automated related systems/software/supplies.

Uses Windows Deployment Services (WDS) to create and deploy system images for efficient workstation setup and updates.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1 year of full-time (or equivalent) IT experience that is in, or closely related to, the work of the position and which has demonstrated the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position.

  • Able to work during non-business hours and weekends, as needed.
  • Travel to other divisional offices and remote hearing locations.
  • Able to lift and move moderately heavy items, such as computer equipment.
