This position is part of the Government Integrated Print Services, Government Publishing Office in Washington, DC.
Serves as a Team Lead and duties will consist of but not limited to the following:
Distributes work to proper workstations; checks on the work in process; responds on the status of work; and acts as immediate contact with employees on questions pertaining to assigned work.
Demonstrates and trains current and new employees on proper work methods.
Suggests changes to supervisor on methods and procedures in daily operations.
Works with co-workers to expedite bundling and tying of publications for delivery.
Directs publications removal from skids and separates according to Congressional jackets.
Directs the separation of Senate Printing, House Documents, Room, and Federal agencies publications in accordance with jacket distribution.
Operates power forklift and/or low-lift platform truck to direct movement of skids into Congressional Bill Corner.
May be required to pass all preemployment requirements prior to appointment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work requires extended periods of walking and standing and some lifting of moderately heavy bundles/cartons weighing from 20-80 pounds.
Must pass a physical examination prior to appointment. Strength test may be required.
Drug test is required.
Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a background investigation for suitability.
May be required to serve a one-year probationary period if not previously completed.
This position is designated as mission essential.
Overtime may be required.
Required to obtain and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license.
Required to obtain and maintain a license to drive and operate power trucks, forklifts and/or low-lifts.

Qualifications
To qualify for the position, applicants must have experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to independently perform the duties typically required of a Printing Plant Worker (Leader).
Applicants must meet the following Screen-out element to be considered for this position:
Ability to lead or supervise which includes providing guidance or direction to a team on work processes in a printing plant environment and ensuring work is done in an accurate and timely manner.
This position has a Quality Ranking Factor (QRF). QRFs are knowledge, skills, and abilities/competencies that could be expected to significantly enhance performance in a position but are not essential for satisfactory performance. Applicants who possess such KSAs/competencies may be ranked above those who do not, but no one will be rated ineligible solely for failure to possess such KSAs/competencies.
Quality Ranking Factor - Experience with the operation of specific tracking software (i.e. Pitney Bowes) and other tools used for tracking and accountability, of congressional products.
