This position is located with the AASF #2 in Marana, Arizona. Its purpose is to plan, organize, review, evaluate, and supervise the various work processes of the section. The position also provides supply support for aviation maintenance. The position serves as the property book custodian. Manages materiel, resource tracking (Depot Level Repair (DLR)/Class 9 (CLIX), special Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE)/tool transactions and performs administrative oversight of hazardous material accountability.

  • ARIZONA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. Prior to appointment into this position, selectee must be a current member of the Arizona Army National Guard, in a military organization supported by the AASF #2.
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Incumbent must possess and maintain a current state driver’s license.
  • This position is temporary and is not expected to exceed 1-year from date of appointment or upon the return of incumbent whichever occurs first.

Qualifications

Military Grades: E-1/PVT to E-4/SPC/CPL

Compatible Military Assignments: Must possess 92A MOS


SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment. Experience conducting searches for required information; reconstruct records for supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts. Experience performing various aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to segments in one or more major areas of supply management. Experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc. Consistent with the grade level determining duties in the position description, higher grade level specialized experience may include experience controlling supply stocks and accounting for equipment, cataloging, maintenance, and disposal procedures. Completing complex supply transactions; and/or providing supply operations support. Experience coordinating with other organizations on complex and controversial supply issues. Experience analyzing, developing, evaluating to improve supply programs, policies, procedures, techniques, etc. Knowledge on the entire inventory management supply system. Experience providing advice and guidance on supply regulations to upper levels of management regarding supply functions. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics):

1. Ability to establish priorities, assign work and revise assignments, based on abilities and special qualifications of employees.

2. Ability to establish performance standards/goals and evaluate performance of subordinates based on attainment of those standards/goals.

3. Knowledge in property book operations in the areas of inventory and storage management and equipment coordination.

4. Ability to schedule, direct and conduct periodic inspections, to ensure stock items are serviceable, properly stored, accounted for and maintained.

5. Skill in reviewing and analyzing listings and reports produced by the automated system to resolve problems on error listings, and provide guidance to assigned personnel.
