Serving as a Contract Specialist GS 1102 11, makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is located in the Procurement Division under the Mission and Readiness Support Directorate (MRSD).
Typical duties include:
Basic Requirements: Successful completion of a four-year course of study, leading to a bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited college or university; OR completion of at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management. You must submit a copy of your official college transcript(s) (unofficial is acceptable) that includes the number of semester or quarter hours completed.
Exceptions to the Basic Requirements: Federal employees in GS-1102 positions will be considered to have met the basic requirements for positions they occupied on January 1, 2000.
In addition to the basic educational requirements listed above, to qualify for the GS-11 grade level you must also meet possess one of the following:
For all Contracting Series, 1102 positions at GS-5 through GS-12: Selectee must meet position requirements for Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) Professional certification4 within 36 months as of entrance on duty.One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the federal service procuring and administering contracts and orders for supplies, services, equipment and/or construction requirements; performing market analyses, requesting and evaluating Requests for Proposals, Invitation for Bids and Requests for Quotations; and determining appropriate simplified acquisition methods and/or contracting methods to be used; OR
Three full academic years (36 semester hours) of progressively higher-level graduate education or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; from an accredited college or university, related to the work of the position to be filled. You must provide transcripts OR
An equivalent combination of graduate education from an accredited college or university and specialized experience, related to the work of the position to be filled. Only in excess of 36 semester hours will be accredited. You must provide a copy of your transcripts.

Work Environment: Work is performed in an office setting. Occasional visits to construction or installation sites maybe required. Attendance at meetings in auditoriums or conference centers may be required.
