This is a secondary law enforcement position. Under the authority of the Aviation and Transportation Security Act (PL 107-71, November 19, 2001), you will function as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer and perform the duties and responsibilities assigned to Federal Air Marshals.
The Assistant Administrator (AA), Field Operations, Law Enforcement/Federal Air Marshal Service (LE/FAMS), Transportation Security Administration (TSA) provides executive level leadership to a workforce comprised of federal law enforcement officers, professional/technical employees and other mission support personnel, overseeing the overall planning, direction and coordination of operations for a large directorate in LE/FAMS. The AA Field Operations reports to the Executive Assistant Administrator (EAA) and Deputy Executive Assistant Administrator (DEAA) and serves as a member of the EAA/DEAA's Executive staff, providing authoritative advice and recommendations related to the formulation, execution and evaluation of long-range programs and planning activities. As a member of the EAA/DEAA's Executive Council and in collaboration with other executive staff, assists the EAA/DEAA in planning, developing and coordinating all LE/FAMS activities related to aviation security and law enforcement.
