This is a secondary law enforcement position. Under the authority of the Aviation and Transportation Security Act (ATSA) (PL 107-71, November 19, 2001), the incumbent functions as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer and performs the duties and responsibilities assigned to Federal Air Marshals.
The Deputy Executive Assistant Administrator for Law Enforcement/Federal Air Marshal Service reports directly to the Executive Assistant Administrator for Law Enforcement/Federal Air Marshal Service and provides executive level leadership to a major component of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with responsibility for TSA law enforcement functions.
