As a IT Specialist (Security) at the NH-2210-4 broadband level some of your typical work assignments may include: As an NH-2210-04 IT Specialist (Security) in the Missile Defense Agency will be expected to perform the following duties:

Develop, implement, and manage a Software Assurance (SwA) program aligned with Agency requirements, DoD directives, policies, and standards such as NIST 800-53, CNSSI 1253, and DoDI 5000.02
Integrate software assurance practices into the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile/DevSecOps pipelines and containers.
Ensure compliance with DoD standards for Secure Software Development (e.g., DISA STIGs, RMF, NIST SP 800-218 Secure Software Development Framework).
Work closely with development teams, program managers, cybersecurity professionals, and external stakeholders to integrate software assurance into system design and development.
Provide guidance on SwA requirements for contracts, procurement, and third-party engagements.
Promote awareness of software assurance principles within the organization.
Develop and present key performance indicators (KPIs) to leadership, showing trends in software vulnerabilities, risk posture improvements, and compliance rates.

This is an Information Assurance/Cybersecurity position coded Level III in the Management Category (IAM). Must have at the time of permanent appointment or achieve within 6 months of Entry on Duty (EOD) appropriate baseline certification.
This is an acquisition position coded Practitioner in Engineering and Technical Management. Incumbent must obtain mandatory Back-to-Basics (BtB) certification within 60 months of entry into position.
Incumbent must acquire 80 Continuous Learning Points every 24 months.
Employee must be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Investigation (TS/SCI) clearance.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the NH-04 broadband level if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:

Experience with software assurance techniques, policies, and procedures. or
Experience identifying threats and vulnerabilities of software on computer system(s) and understanding of the configuration management process. or
Experience implementing continuous improvement of the cyber risk posture of software within budget, technical, and schedule constraints.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
