Basic Requirements: GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: substantive experience that demonstrates expert knowledge, skills, and abilities in work ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of cybersecurity programs, policies, procedures, and tools; expert knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies, FISMA, RMF, IAVMs and other cybersecurity programs and tools; senior specialist or project manager or functioning at similar levels of responsibility.There is no substitution of education for the qualifying experience at this grade level.
