Command Support attorneys practice law predominantly in the area of Civilian Personnel Law (CPL) before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB), ethics, environmental law, Freedom of Information Act/Privacy Act (FOIA/PA), procurement fraud/acquisition integrity, review and advise on legislative proposals and provide advice to various senior-level clients in the NAVAIR Headquarters on a variety of other topics including security matters and matters before the NAVAIR Inspector General. The successful applicants will counsel clients on the full range of Command Support topics and represent the Command in litigation before the EEOC and MSPB. Further, the incumbents must provide legal advice on applicable statutes, regulations, and policy guidance. The incumbents may also address other practice areas within the NAVAIR Office of General Counsel. The ability to forge strong working relationships with attorneys and clients alike is essential for program attorneys.
This position is not covered by the Department of the Defense Priority Placement Program.
