Must possess a current first class medical certificate in accordance with FAA regulations or DOD equivalent at the time of appointment.

This position requires a secret security clearance.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

This position is being filled under the Direct Hire Authority for DoD Maintenance Activities.
POSITION IS ANNOUNCED AS A STANDING REGISTER (OPEN CONTINUOUS RECRUITMENT): First cutoff date to evaluate candidates will be 29 November 2024 at 11:59 PM. Basic Requirement: Possession of the appropriate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pilot certificates, and/or military rating, meeting the applicable flight hour requirements, and possession of the knowledge and skills required for the position. Specialized Experience: Must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes: Performing various aviator duties as a Maintenance Test Pilot (MP), or Maintenance Test Pilot Examiner (ME); establishing work schedules, determining priorities, delegating responsibilities, providing feedback to employees, and setting performance standards; assisting with operational budgetary requirements; and providing training in all phases of aviation unit operations, aircraft maintenance and supply functions.
