- Performs labor tasks for journey maintenance workers on interior and exterior of buildings. Included are tasks such as preparing surfaces for painting, preparing floor for carpeting or tile, holding or retrieving required tools for particular jobs, digging holes, securing job specific supplies, etc.
- Assists in renovating, fertilizing and landscaping duties in cultivating shrubbery; and independently performs removal of grasses and weeds. Operates basic landscaping equipment such as mowers and spreaders.
- As directed, moves and rearranges furniture, files and equipment in the Regional Office and in the Warehouse. Assists in the assembly of complicated furniture.
- Incumbent is expected to be familiar with and carry out the safety program as outlined in Bureau guidelines and follow safe work practices as instructed by the Foreman, Supervisor, Safety Manager and other Journey level Maintenance employees.
- Drives and operates light duty trucks, mobile equipment, material handling equipment (front end loader), etc.
- The use of a respirator is required.

A physical exam may not be required if a comparable agency approved examination was performed within the last 12 months. The cost of the exam will be reimbursed by the agency.
