Summary

The Aeronautics Directorate Branch (ARMD) at NASA Ames Research Center is seeking interested applicants for the position of Management and Program Analyst of NASA Aeronautics Research Institute (NARI). You will serve as the operations manager to ensure the NARI's operations and activities are conducted in a successful manner in terms of schedule, budget, risk, customer engagements, and support NARI staff's needs for execution of various workshops, meetings, research and development activities.

Help
  • Serve NASA Aeronautics Research Institute's mission of supporting NASA and other government organizations by understanding and coordinating their needs related to aeronautics related research and development activities in a timely manner.
  • Support NASA Aeronautics Research Institute (NARI) Director and ensure all logistics and NARI operations involving planning and execution of workshops, stakeholder meetings, technical and gap analysis are smoothly performed.
  • Plan and execute technical events: conduct activities such as identifying and selecting venue(s), developing technical content/agenda, outreach strategy, managing planning team, and ensuring successful completion are performed.
  • Create material related to events for web and other media venues, solicit relevant participants, prepare technical agenda, identify and coordinate with speakers and/or panelists, and develop technical reports and recommendations.
  • Maintain strong relationships and communications with executives, directors, project managers, researchers, resource specialists to ensure NARI fulfills its mission by adding value towards ARMD's strategic implementation plan and commitments.
  • Plan and execute NARI's activities in support of internal and external stakeholders, including preparations of inter- and intra-agency agreements, milestone reports, weekly highlights, event summaries, and data call responses.
  • Serve as one of the significant contributors towards yearly planning, project management, budget formulation, and task management towards all activities performed by NARI.
  • Lead operations and support staff to ensure success of activities related to planning and execution of virtual and in-person engagements of various types, stakeholder coordination, agreements, research and development activities.
  • Identify needs to serve the NASA aeronautics enterprise by utilizing understanding of NASA and national priorities related to aeronautics.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:

  • Planning and executing aeronautics-focused conventions, workshops, and stakeholder engagement forums via virtual or in-person meetings;
  • Analyzing and allocating resources for aeronautics-related programs, projects, or events to ensure requirements are met;
  • Evaluating logistics, agreements, and reports to ensure compliance and recommend improvements.

A Bachelor degree in communication, English, journalism, or similar fields is preferred.
