The Office of Research and Development (ORD) is VA's research program consisting of over $800 million in appropriated funds supporting approximately 3000 VA scientists, more than 50% of whom are clinicians. This position is within the Office of Research and Development (ORD) at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Headquarters in Washington, DC within the national Million Veteran Program (MVP) Office. ORD aspires to discover knowledge, develop VA researchers and health care leaders, create innovation that advance health care for our Veterans and the nation. MVP is one of the largest research programs to date that links information on genetics, health, lifestyle, and military experiences to Veterans' health with the goal of facilitating high quality research that will improve health care for Veterans. The MVP Program Office in ORD, umbrellas MVP Coordinating Centers and Scientific Cores with over 200 staff, as they oversee complex scientific and administrative functions across the VHA as well as at various partners supporting MVP like the Department of Energy.
The primary responsibilities of the position include Program Office administrative management, data analysis, program analysis, project management and the variety of special projects under the program, while also assisting to the MVP Director and Associate Directors. The incumbent will report directly to the MVP Director and keeps him/her apprised of issues that need to be addressed by senior management.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday; Tour of duty will be set based on organizational need.
