The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the maintenance, repair, alteration, and construction of masonry structures and surfaces made of stone within Shenandoah National Park Trails and Backcountry Facilities Branch. This TERM project work will repair and maintain rock structures as well as rehabilitate masonry wall structures, repair and restore tread surfaces and critical trails structures, and restore trail drainage structures to improve safety and prevent tread washouts. Duties include:

Physical Demands: This position is required to perform masonry work from ladders, scaffolds, platforms, and other cramped and hard-to-reach places. Duties require the incumbent to sit, stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb, crawl, and work in uncomfortable positions. Will be required to walk, hike, climb to remote work locations; expected to lift and/or carry items 50-100 pounds; requires driving over rough and uneven terrain.You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
