The successful applicant will directly handle Federal Tort Claims Act administrative tort claims, along with partnering with the United States Attorney's Office in defending Federal Tort Claims Act litigation in a designated territory. In that role, the successful applicant will analyze liability and value of tort matters, will negotiate settlements both directly with claimants in the administrative forum as well as at mediations and settlement conferences for litigation matters, and will provide litigation support to the United States Attorney's Offices on Postal FTCA litigation cases. Occasional travel will be required.
