This position is located in the Maintenance Division, Virginia Kendal Maintenance Area (VK) Unit at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The Trails and Grounds Supervisor provides the overall maintenance supervision and leadership for all park Trails and Grounds work within the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The employee works under the direct supervision of the Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist (SFOS). The employee is guided by memoranda, National Park Service standards, OSHA, EPA and Ohio state codes. The employee coordinates labor, equipment, materials and other resources for the trails and grounds work. As the first line supervisor for all trails and grounds work, this individual is responsible for overall operations at the unit. Typical work assignments include:

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Employee will at times be required to wear protective equipment such as respirator, hearing protection, clothing and eye protection and must meet physical requirements to do so.
Occasionally must lift and handle objects weighing up to 75 pounds. Must be able to reach, stretch, bend, turn and move body, hands, arms, feet and legs to accomplish work.
Work is performed in and outdoors (70% inside, 30% outside), sometimes in dusty, wet windy conditions, in extreme temperatures occasionally reaching below zero in the winter and 90+ degree temperatures with high humidity in the summer. The work site can be dusty, contain fumes and other hazardous materials. Employee can be subject to cuts, flying splinters and chips, and injury from power and hand tools.
The National Park Service has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
