As a Marine Resources Management Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
• Conduct environmental reviews and/or resource consultations including Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act (ESA), Essential Fish Habitat provisions of the Magnuson Stevens Act (MSA), or the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
• Assist with providing guidance on issues concerning habitat conservation, recovery of protected species, and the development of fishery management plans ensuring regional Fishery Management Councils are in compliance with the MSA and the NEPA.
• Coordinate natural resource management studies to formulate solutions to complex problems related to natural resource management and protection.
• Review and consult on activities related to offshore energy development, transportation development, port improvement activities, and other coastal development activities.
• Engage with local, federal, state, and other partners to address natural resource management issues using the knowledge of biological science and techniques pertaining to ecology, marine/anadromous fisheries, and aquatic habitats.
Monster Government Solutions (MGS) will be performing regular monthly maintenance on Saturday, April 11th at 12:01 a.m. and will end Sunday, April 12th at 6:00 p.m. ET. An installation on all production systems will be performed on Saturday, April 18th at 12:01 a.m. and will end on Sunday, April 19th at 11:59 p.m. ET. You may not be able to complete the application process during these times.
This position will be filled under the DOC Alternative Personnel System (CAPS). This system replaced the Federal GS pay plan and structure. Under CAPS, positions are classified by career, pay plan, and pay band.
The ZP-2 is equivalent to the GS-7/9 grade levels, however is only being advertised equivalent to the GS-9 grade level. The full performance level of this position is ZP-2.
