This position will be part of the Zion Resource Management team, and will assist in the preparation, internal review, public involvement and review process for assigned environmental compliance documents. This is a busy park with a wide range of projects. The position may also assist in scientific research permit issuing and tracking. The incumbent reviews and monitors internal and external projects for compliance with Federal, state and local laws, regulations and policies. Projects will require knowledge ranging from landscape architecture, to a wide range of natural and cultural resources. and require working with a broad team of specialists to assess and mitigate project impacts.

Qualifications

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement, unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess the following qualifications:

EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: monitoring new construction for compliance with environmental requirements, collecting data or performing basic background research, tracking and inputting complex data, assisting in collecting or organizing public or interdisciplinary input. You must include hours per week worked for each job description.

Education: Successful completion of 1 year (18 semester/27 quarter credits) of graduate-level education DIRECTLY related to the position (archeology, anthropology, history, GIS, environmental science, biology, outdoor recreation planner).
