This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
Eligible DoD career or career conditional employees shall be granted statutory return rights to their former position for a period of 5 years if continuously employed in a foreign or non-foreign area provided by Executive Order 10895 and DoDI 1400.25, v 1230. Employees that do not exercise their return rights within five years are no longer eligible for return rights and will be treated as a local hire.
The Salary range for the GS-12, Series 0808, 0810, and 0830 is $81,315.00 to $105,053.00.
The Salary range for the GS-12, Series 0850 is $85,727.00 to $109,465.00.
Physical Demands: This work is generally not physically demanding. However, some physical exertion is required during occasional site visits and inspections of projects by walking and climbing. Bending may be required to gain access to certain parts of the work. Employee may carry light items such as instruments, books, and other similar material. This position does not require special physical effort.
Working Conditions: The work will normally be performed in an office environment with occasional visits to project sites. Field investigations are conducted around energized electrical and mechanical equipment. During site visits, specific safety regulations are enforced and personal protective equipment such as hard hat, eye protection, and safety shoes are required.
Recruitment incentives may be authorized to eligible new hires.
A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
