The position is located in the Planning Division of the Denver Service Center (DSC). The incumbent performs a wide range of duties related to planning and may function as a natural resources planning project specialist involved in the preparation of a variety of planning projects and studies and related environmental documents. The incumbent may serve as a project manager on one or more projects with supervisory approval.

As a Natural Resource Specialist you will:

A combination of education and experience - at least 30 semester hours that included courses as shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
Physical Demands: Although the majority of the work is sedentary in nature, frequent field trips may involve considerable amount of walking, hiking, climbing, and the carrying of gear/equipment. Some strenuous physical exertion may occur on these field trips. Occasional periods of long hours required while in travel status.
Working Conditions: The work is usually performed in an office environment, meeting rooms, or similar meetings. Travel is frequent and involves the normal risks and discomforts of automobile, bus, rail, or air transportation. During fieldtrips, the incumbent is often in the out-of-doors and may experience weather extremes, insect bites, varied topography, and other physical demands.
The National Park Service has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
