Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Independently initiating, executing, and completing civil engineering or geologic studies related to the analysis or design of flood risk management, stream bank protection, aquatic ecosystem restoration, navigation projects, or water control structures; Preparing detailed reports, technical papers, drawings and specifications pertaining to civil engineering and geology; Coordinating and performing inspections of project features for civil works and local flood protection; Documenting findings in writing and communicate verbally to stakeholders; Managing a multi-discipline team while maintaining scope, schedule, and budget on several different projects of varying complexity; OR Developing and Reviewing budgetary and appropriations documentation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
