Duties
As an Attorney-Adviser (General), you will:
- Within the applicable subject-matter area, provide legal advice to managers and staff.
- Support legal positions taken by the United States or BPA, and works with members of various BPA offices and Departmental components to provide opinions and advice within the scope of the assignment.
- Analyze and interpret various federal and state laws, orders, rules and regulations, and case law applying to the United States and to BPA.
- Assist in analyzing and drafting proposed legislation, regulations, and/or statements of agency policy.
- Prepare pleadings and evidence as directed by the United States Attorneys' Office and the Department of Justice, and represent BPA at administrative hearings as assigned.
- Prepare legal opinions and analyses in areas as assigned by the Assistant General Counsel.
