Duties
- Serves as a Prevention Deputy, responsible for maintaining day-to-day operations and oversight of integrated primary prevention efforts.
- The Prevention Deputy supports the I-PAG Prevention Lead in advising the Senior Commander's staff on primary prevention activities and the public health approach.
- The incumbent also builds rapport with prevention stakeholders, advises ongoing prevention efforts, and modernizes prevention education.
- Identifies and integrates data, research and evaluation findings from various sources.

- This is a condition for employment. Supervisory Prevention Specialists will ensure the I-PAG workforce acquire and maintain the appropriate level D-CPPP credential to standard.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Conducting analysis of existing capabilities and resources to identify factors that inhibit implementation and evaluation of prevention activities; Researching proposed approaches to prevention to ensure they are evidence-informed and will result in decreases of harmful behavior; Supporting ongoing prevention policy development and refinement that supports the local prevention system and provides for evaluation of prevention strategy and activities ; AND/OR Building the prevention capacity of the community through activities at the individual, interpersonal/family/unit, organizational, community and societal levels. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

- Medical and dental care may be provided by host nation providers. The availability and level of care at host nation medical and dental facilities will vary by location.
- Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions.
