This position is part of the WAPA-RMR-Rocky Mountain Region. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.
To qualify at the GS-9:
Applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the GS-8 grade level or equivalent pay band. This experience includes:

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work involves considerable strenuous field assignments such as climbing steel and wood pole structures to inspect conductor sagging, structure erection details, and hardware installation. Considerable bending and heavy lifting may be involved. Incumbent may be standing or walking for long periods over rough terrain during adverse weather. Stress is sometimes present when large numbers of varied activities must be performed, sometimes over several miles of construction activity. Extensive overnight travel is required and incumbent must operate a Government vehicle and have a current and valid motor vehicle operator's license. Incumbent is required to annually participate in Western's Federal Employee Occupational Medical Program and shall be medically qualified to perform these duties.
