Duties
- Retrieve, enter and manipulate data in the student information system.
- Maintain students' permanent hard-copy records and ensures the information is readily available to the proper school officials.
- Collect and transfer grades into the student information management system through the use of the electronic grade book software.
- Receive data and enter the student information management database to include new student enrollment, discipline and attendance data, school and student scheduling information, report cards and transcript information.
- Prepare a variety of letters, messages, memoranda, reports, charts, school bulletins, and other correspondence using typing and automated word processing equipment and other various software programs.

Specialized experience for GS-06: One year of specialized experience which includes: generating requested reports utilizing an information management system; reviewing forms or reports for accuracy; and providing assistance to staff members. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this grade, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted for the GS-06 level.
