For the GS-0991-14, Supervisory Workers Compensation Claims Examiner you will:
-Assist the FAB Branch Chief in determining when and where hearings are to be scheduled; reviews the hearing transcript and the resulting final decisions of subordinate hearing representatives. Employs comprehensive knowledge of various illnesses common to the nuclear and atomic weapons' industry in order to address a variety of medical questions relating to the development of serious or fatal illnesses incurred by workers.
-Conduct regular and ongoing reviews of completed cases that involve oral hearings or reviews of the written records as a quality control check.
-Apply analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to problems, questions, and or issues when issuing final decisions that affirm, remand, or reverse recommended decisions issued by the DEEOIC.
-Provide input in developing, establishing, and evaluating Hearing and Review regulations, policies, and standards, as they relate to oral hearings, review of the written record, and appeal options.
-Exercise technical and administrative responsibility for the EEOICP, which is a benefit payment program that affects the welfare and well-being of thousands of claimants whose claims fall within the jurisdiction of the FAB-EEOICPA.
