Working under the general supervision of the Regional Marketing Directors, the primary objectives of this position are to administer and guide the comprehensive marketing program for the N9 program. The incumbent provides marketing support to local program managers and coordinates the services of the Marketing Office.

II. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Coordinates written and verbal communications for a wide variety of media including military newspapers, MWR magazine, newsletters, electronic and static marquees. Attends indoctrinations and information briefs for fleet and shore commands and submits feedback to program managers and Regional Marketing Manager. Generates feature stories for placement in military media including BUPERS publication information, civilian and military publications and other media. Ensures all U.S. Navy public affairs policies are strictly followed.
B. Produces publicity materials and coordinates distribution of these materials to various customers and recipients including press releases, and plan of the day notices. Coordinates information from all Southwest region complexes for various site and regional publications.
C. Responsible for the production of marketing campaigns to enhance and promote MWR programs from inception to completion, in accordance with Regional Marketing Office and Site policies. This includes research, budgets, resource allocation and communications. Works to develop marketing strategies for regional and site programs. Uses a variety of available tools including customer feedback program, Pulse Point, regional program and site managers' input.
D. Reviews graphic request submissions from program managers to the Regional Marketing Office for accuracy, viability and pertinence to the regional marketing objectives. Suggests changes to the program manager. Liaisons with the regional graphics department to ensure work is performed in a timely manner and within budget constraints.
E. Assists with coordination of special events including holiday programs, fairs, athletic events, grand openings, ribbon cuttings, military ceremonies, concerts, runs and other events. Develops marketing plan with program managers including promotional schedules, budgets and plan of action and milestones. Coordinates regional resources in support of the event including graphics requests, marketing support, guest speakers, and military dignitaries. Interfaces with program managers to create a successful event.
F. Proposes artistic ornamental décor to enhance the interior decoration of the MWR facilities providing recommendations on style, color treatment and placement of furnishings to increase service to the customer.
G. Using 35mm and/or digital cameras, ensures photography support for events both on and off station. Develops and revises visual presentations that include photography, scripting and formatting, which are utilized to promote site and regional activities to afloat and tenant commands.
H. Gives MWR informational briefs at afloat and shore commands in the San Diego area to increase awareness of MWR facilities and programs. Provides Site Managers and Regional Marketing Manager with feedback.
I. Serves as a MWR regional publicity expert to ensure that all regional marketing office programs are consistent with the goals and mission objectives. Provides advice to Site Managers regarding Regional Marketing Office programs and services.
J. Maintains an MWR database of customers, sponsors and others as required. Ensures that all mailing lists are updated and produces labels and other materials used in mass mailings. Keeps and maintains office logbooks as required.
K. Coordinates the Pulse Point Customer Service program for the region. Formats the surveys from the Marketing Manager's input, tabulates the findings and coordinates the distribution of results.
L. Coordinates the smooth flow of reporting paperwork including accounting forms and purchase orders.
M. Assists the MWR Graphics personnel with sign and banner production.
N. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Four year college degree desirable with an emphasis in communications or equivalent work experience in a related field/discipline.
