This is a Career-Seasonal position and subject to release and recall procedures. A permanent career-seasonal position includes all the benefits of permanent employment but does not provide employment on a full year-round basis. As such, selectee will be in a non-pay/non-duty status for 2 weeks per year based on project requirements or weather conditions. Selectee will work approximately 11.5 months per year with a furlough period from approximately mid-April to late April.
The National Park Service has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework only during an emergency or natural disaster.

A relocation incentive is not the same as a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move and, as such, may be granted in conjunction with one another.
Physical Demands: Incumbent must walk, bend and ride on horseback for long hours. Required to lift, carry and secure awkward loads up to 100 lbs onto the sides of animals at or above chest height and use arms to hold packs in position while hitching ropes. Incumbent must be able to adjust these loads along the trail in steep, rocky, or other poor footing situations. While preparing loads is constantly required to bend, squat, twist, lift, and load loads onto trucks for transport. Position requires that the incumbent have good physical stamina and strength in arms, back and legs to perform these required tasks safely and efficiently.
