• Planning, developing, and conducting activities to support high-quality special education research in one or more of the National Center for Special Education Research's (NCSER) research and research training programs.

• Planning, developing, and conducting activities to support high-quality special education research in one or more of NCSER's research and research training programs. Advise other Center personnel regarding substantive issues in their assigned research and/or research training portfolio(s). Identify emerging issues and priorities, evaluate the significance of trends, define goals, formulate and plan research activities in their assigned portfolio(s).
• Managing special education research and/or research training projects conducted largely through competitive grants and provide technical assistance to other Center staff managing grants in related areas. Develop and managing one or more research and/or research training grant programs in the education sciences. Provide technical assistance to applicants and grantees on carrying out high quality education research and/or implementing high quality research training programs. • Represent the Center and the Institute in promoting the special education research and research training programs.
• Establishing and maintain contacts and close working relationships with high-level officials in the department, other Federal agencies, universities, professional societies, and the private sector.
• Preparing or direct and contribute to articles, presentations, and publications in areas of professional expertise.
