The Regional Director serves a critical role in implementing the Federal Credit Union Act, consumer financial protection laws, and protecting the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund. The incumbent of this position serves as the Regional Director of one of the National Credit Union Administration's (NCUA) regions and is responsible for the full range of NCUA programs in the assigned Region.
As the Regional Director, your responsibilities will include:
Leading and carrying out the NCUA examination program in the Region, within their delegated authority and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and the NCUA's policies and procedures. This includes ensuring that human and fiscal resources are used in a manner that most efficiently and effectively supports the NCUA mission and strategic goals and providing leadership and direction to accomplish national and regional program objectives.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the NCUA leadership, State financial regulatory officials, counterpart Federal financial regulatory officials, public interest groups and other stakeholders. Participating in discussions of proposed legislation or other matters of regional and national scope.
Maintaining current information and staying informed on matters related to the credit union industry, trends and other developments related to financial regulations, and issues impacting the financial industry.
Directing the supervision of Federal credit unions in the Region, determining what standards of operation are in accordance with law, regulations, administration policies, and sound management practices.
Providing leadership and direction to support the development and implementation of regional programs and participating the participation in new NCUA programs impacting the scope and responsibility of the region and agency.
Influencing agency planning and policy through participation in conferences at the national level and interpretation of existing policy.
Ensuring the Region is effectively run within the confines and parameters of the operating and resource budget, requesting exceptions or modifications as conditions change.
Working closely with the Office of General Counsel (OGC) on legal matters impacting the assigned region and the agency where applicable.
Education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for executive positions.

Best Qualified candidates will be referred to an NCUA ERB interview panel for a possible interview. The ERB interview panel will make recommendations on final selections to the appointing authority.
Reference Checks: Reference checks will need to be conducted before an offer of employment for the top candidate(s) for this position. The reference checks will need to be conducted with current and former supervisors, if applicable, as a part of NCUA's selection assessment process.
