As a Student Trainee (Biological Sciences) your duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Works with other technicians and senior Biologists to conduct fish and wildlife and/or plant surveys and monitoring.
- Assists with performing or reviewing biological studies for determining the manner and extent to which fish, wildlife and plant populations may be affected by development or contamination and conservation activities.
- Assists in the review of projects submitted for ESA section 7 consultation.
- Assists with invasive species removal projects, recording and submitting accomplishment data on the process of technical assistance and habitat restoration activities.
- Uses a variety of databases and reporting systems to store, compile, and analyze data from monitoring and studies.
- Works with other technicians and senior biologists to help maintain the outreach and volunteer program. Assists senior staff with providing tours, speaking to civic organizations and groups, and as directed, maintains public use and educational facilities.
- Develops reports and other materials.
