The Federal Transit Administration, Office of the Chief Counsel, has an opening in Washington DC for an Attorney-Advisor in its Legislation and Regulations Division. The attorney will provide written and oral legal opinions as appropriate, interpreting statutes, regulations, departmental orders, and agency guidance. The attorney will work on a variety of matters with an emphasis (at this time) on regulatory and enforcement work related to safety law.

To qualify for the Grade 11, you must have completed a full course of study in a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) and have a professional law degree.
To qualify for the Grade 12, you must have two years of equal or equivalent experience that must include a law degree, bar membership and either two years of professional attorney experience or second professional law degree which requires one full year of graduate study.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
