The area of consideration for this position is all groups of qualified individuals within the Civil Service, Excepted Service, Senior Executive Service (SES) reinstatement eligible, and SES Candidate Development Program certified graduates with noncompetitive eligibility. Oversees the planning and execution of these activities to ensure goals and objectives are achieved in an effective and timely manner and that customer expectations are met. Responsible for OIG-wide IT policy development, budgeting and procurement, and data analysis-related matters.
Develops, implements, and enforces security policies OIG-wide, and maintains constant awareness of evolving government-wide policies. Proactively scans the technology and OIG program landscape, stays abreast of trends, and serves as the strategic advisor/champion for multi-year change using technology across OIG programs and operations.
Ensures the OIG’s services meet applicable mandates and determines the impact of changes to the OIG’s services. The incumbent also reviews current legislation, directives, regulations, and guidance, to evaluate the impact on OIG programs and services. Incumbent serves as the senior “champion” within OIG for awareness of technology-related trends and impacts to OIG.
Formulates strategies, develops plans and procedures, and implements training and professional development to meet OIG requirements regarding knowledge and skill in information technology and resources management.
This position is a drug-testing designated position subject to random testing for illegal drug use. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's completion and favorable adjudication of a background security investigation. The Ethics in Government Act, PL 95-521 requires the applicant selected for this position submit a financial disclosure statement, OGE-278, prior to assuming the SES position, annually, and upon termination of employment.
