The Deputy General Counsel for Intelligence, International and Military Affairs (SAF/GCI) is responsible for international law matters, cyber law issues, military personnel, security, intelligence, and investigative matters of major importance to the accomplishment of the Air Force mission. The incumbent provides legal and legal policy advice on intelligence, counter-intelligence, and intelligence oversight matters; personnel and information security, special access programs, and provides assistance in the litigation of cases involving sensitive classified information; and provides advice on matters related to the Department of the Air Force nuclear enterprise. The Deputy General Counsel provides legal and legal policy advice on international law and international affairs to include military and civil aviation, security assistance and cooperation, outer space, cooperative RDT&E, treaties, international agreements and other arrangements, statutes, directives, and court decisions affecting Department of the Air Force operations and activities worldwide. The incumbent develops and coordinates legal positions on international law issues and represents the Department of the Air Force in interagency discussions and in international negotiations with foreign governments/international organizations; and provides legal opinions and assistance regarding intergovernmental disputes and claims involving the Department of the Air Force. The Deputy General Counsel provides legal and legal policy advice on military personnel law including Air National Guard and Reserve matters.
A JURIS DOCTORATE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION.
