You must be currently employed by the National Institutes of Health, serving on a permanent appointment in the competitive service.
This position serves as a senior advisor to the Director of the Executive Secretariat, while also leading a small unit with responsibility for a wide array of projects, programs, and initiatives that help the Executive Secretariat function as well-coordinated, disciplined, effective and efficient organization, particularly in the areas of strategic planning, technology systems growth and development.
As Chief, Program Integration and Business Operations Unit, the incumbent supervises other ES staff responsible for carrying out ES technology, planning, and business operations and integrating information that supports the ES mission and organizational priorities, programs, and operations.
Engages with and seeks feedback from senior NIH personnel and key organizational stakeholders to identify and define obstacles and problems hindering organizational progress and functionality and develops and recommends solutions and/or courses of action.
Supervises and performs a wide variety of functions in support of ES-wide responsibilities, such as strategic planning, preparing and leading NIH-wide meetings and presentations, evaluating ES information systems and technology development and managing the development of new functionalities and improvements, planning and measuring organizational performance, leading branding projects including website development and maintenance, responding to administrative data calls, and tracking ES budget and expenditures, etc.
Leads and supervises all internal and external communications materials that identify and present ES's role in NIH.
Utilizes online resources, contacts in other Executive Secretariats, and OHR and the Office of Management, and other information on organizational planning and development, as part of ES leadership, to identify, promote, and lead professional development and opportunities for ES staff
Serves as lead contact with the NIH Center for Information Technology (CIT) on development of improved functionality and usability of the SAAVI system, a web-based, NIH-wide enterprise system to manage official correspondence and clearance assignments throughout NIH.
Oversees the work of the ES Business Analyst who serves as technical advisor to IT system developers and provides leadership in the design, development, and implementation of any IT systems used by ES.
