The primary purpose of the position is to serve as the Branch Chief of the Infrastructure Security Exercise Branch within CISA Exercises. In this role, the incumbent is responsible for the oversight and management of the Agency's efforts to build national capacity and capabilities to enhance the security and resilience of critical infrastructure through the planning and conduct of exercise programs in accordance with the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP). Typical work assignments include:
- Directing, supervising and coordinating the work of personnel engaged in the substantive, mission-oriented work of discussion- and operations-based exercise planning and execution in support of CISA mission and priorities;
- Providing subject-matter expertise to guide exercise design and delivery, including control and facilitation of complex or senior-level exercises;
- Defining requirements for Agency security exercise programs and products by assessing needs of federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and private sector partners and conducting gap analysis of existing capabilities and programs;
- Guiding, directing, and overseeing acquisition and contracting activities to acquire goods and services through contracts and agreements;
- Monitoring and managing budget execution to ensure effective and efficient use of appropriated and assigned resources;
- Preparing and presenting decision papers, reports, analyses, and other products on program activities for senior officials and policy makers; and
- Representing DHS and CISA as a subject matter expert and speaking for DHS and CISA at national and international meetings, symposia, and conferences and varied stakeholders.
