Duties

The Nursing Assistant (NA) will perform a wide range of resident care and supportive duties in the Community Living Center (CLC) for our Veterans, alongside the CLC RN and LPN staff. We are looking for Nursing Assistant (NA) Applicants that would like the opportunity to grow, develop, learn, and work with us. The NA responsibilities will require an exceptional degree of skill and knowledge, to appropriately provide and support patient care needs, support care plans, seeks assistance and guidance from the CLC RN/LPN or the CLC providers, updates the nurses of changes in patient's condition, and function as a valued team member in providing care for the complex aging veteran population.
- Demonstrate effective communication or rapport with patients, families, visitors, and the interdisciplinary team
- Assisting with activities related to bathing, shaving, feeding, oral hygiene, ambulation, and dressing.
- Assisting the RN or LPN in the rehabilitation goals, positioning patients for bedside procedures or cares, and ensuring overall safety.
- Promotes Veteran participation in the therapeutic community by fostering self-reliance and independence.
- Compliance with various isolation precautions, infection control guidelines, adhere to the Covid-19 guidelines for personal protection equipment, and swabbing.
- Recognizes and supports suicide prevention initiatives and works closely with the Behavioral Recovery Outreach (BRO) team.
- Safeguards Veteran privacy and confidentiality.
- Able to document the patients daily living activities in CPRS.
- Promotes flexibility to float to other areas in the CLC.
