Major Duties: The HR Specialist positions are located in Human Resources Management and Consulting Service (HRMACS); with additional support to the Human Resources Operations Office (HROO) for special initiatives and projects. The HR Specialist's primary purpose is to provide operations support and technical guidance on program processes, and demonstrate expertise in a wide variety of human resources management activities and programs. As a high level and independent HR Specialist, you will provide federal HR guidance as well as perform administrative, evaluative, analytical, consultative and technical work. Provide a variety of human resources management (HRM) services as well as consultation to support strategic goals and objectives. Provide comprehensive HR services and coordinate with, and advise managers, supervisors and other HR professionals on technical issues involving HR actions.
There is no educational substitution at this grade level.

Receiving Service Credit or Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee.
