Duties
As a Education Technician GS-1702-6, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision:
- Assist with the day-today operation, services and administrative work of the Admissions office.
- Provide a variety of services and technical assistance work and assist with work study placement and recruitment functions.
- Maintain procedures to ensure integrity and security of all records, files and documents.
- Work with various databases and computer software to help the student, faculty and Registrar to complete tasks projects and reports.
- Responsible for all purchase and travel requisitions .
- Prepare and provide all data (lists, labels, forms) to various departments on campus.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet the qualification requirements contained in the OPM Standards. For this position, they are listed below.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
GS-6: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the Federal service that includes: Performing clerical duties in support of an office by responding to questions or inquiries from students, faculty and visitors; assisting with answering telephones and email correspondence; preparing letters, memo's and reports for submission; working with various automated systems; ensuring data entries are complete and accurate; processing transfer credits for admitted students; maintaining student records and documents according to policy.
Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.
Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year (52 weeks) of service at the next lower grade level.
