- Obtain and maintain Security clearance (if applicable)
- Hold an advanced degree (Masters preferred) and has grade-appropriate PME (Air Command and Staff College or Air War College) at current grade
- Knowledge of the concepts, principles, policies, and practices of a DoD Public Affairs Program
- Substantive knowledge and general understanding of 412 TW, AFTC, AFMC, DAF, and DoD programs and policies

- May be required to work at locations other than the 412 TW Public Affairs office for similar reasons.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- Incumbent will be subject to recall to duty and having to perform other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- The incumbent must be available to support operations in an exercise or contingency situation. May be required to work irregular shifts or overtime

- Knowledge of DoD safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
- Knowledge of written/oral communication and visual information principles, methods, and techniques to effectively and efficiently plan, coordinate, conduct, and evaluate Public Affairs and multimedia activities.
- Skill in gathering, evaluating, and interpreting data to arrive at valid conclusions and offer meaningful recommendations to the PA team and Wing leadership.
- Skill in producing written and visual information for audiences with different levels of understanding.
- Experience supervising small to medium sized organization as well as plan, organize, and direct the functions/operations.
- Substantive knowledge and general understanding of AFTC , AFMC, DAF, and DoD programs and policies.
