Duties
This position is a mission critical occupation and is responsible for analyzing public health programs, policies and procedures to ensure that Health Resources and Services Administration meets its mission, goals and objectives.
This announcement will be used to fill multiple positions within HRSA including the HRSA Scholars Program, the HRSA Health Equity Fellowship Program, and other Recent Graduate appointments within HRSA Bureaus and Offices. The HRSA Scholars Program and the HRSA Health Equity Fellowship Program are administered and managed as a cohort. As such, there is a limited number of slots associated with each of these programs, however other Recent Graduate appointment selections may be made throughout the organization. MAJOR DUTIES
As a HRSA Recent Graduate, HRSA Scholar Public Health Analyst, or HRSA Health Equity Fellow at the GS-9 level, you will receive on-the-job and/or formal training to develop analytical skills. Assignments will be developmental and progressively more difficult, designed to improve your grasp and understanding of the methodology and performance of work assignments.
Your major duties and responsibilities include:
- Serving as a Public Health Analyst for your assigned portion of a public health program in the assigned geographic area or jurisdiction.
- Working as part of a team to implement public health programs by providing support to national, state, and/or local agencies and organizations in the development, extension, and improvement of their public health care systems and services.
- Providing technical assistance to national, state, and/or local agencies, health-related organizations, or research entities regarding the development, extension, and improvement of public health care studies, programs, systems, strategies, and service.
- Conducting studies and performing other analytical work related to the planning, development, organization, administration, evaluation, and delivery of public health programs.
- Generating reports and preparing issue and policy papers.

Education
This position has an education requirement and a GPA requirement of a cumulative 3.5 or higher.
